Sing a Song about a Rainbow with Singer/songwriter Karen Daniel
|
|
"Sing a song about a rainbow
Of everlasting love
Sing a song about a rainbow
And a promise from above!"
If you like those happy, upbeat inspirational words, you would enjoy the music of Karen Daniel, a well known Jewish singer and songwriter who lives in the Nashville, TN area. Although I'm mostly known for my Jewish and children's music, I have also written and continue to write country and folk songs. I'm starting to get back into the writer's night circuit and to record, harmonize and generally collaborate with my husband, singer-songwriter Red David.
Starting to plan for some new recordings...coming soon! -Karen Daniel

Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Karen Daniel has written songs since the age of 14. Best known for her upbeat, very singable songs, she performs a mix of folk, Jewish, Hebrew, traditional and original songs. Her songs are known and listened to in synagogues, schools, churches, homes and cars around the country. Karen can also be heard singing live at various writer's nights around Nashville with her husband, singer/songwriter Red David.
Karen plays and writes by ear, and has a natural, gentle, warm singing style. Inspired by her own life experiences and children, her songs describe the Jewish traditions and themes, and are well-liked by listeners of every faith and age group. Karen has recorded four albums of original Jewish inspirational songs: - Breaking the Lock (beautiful melodies on themes of creation, the story of Noah, Shabbat, Bat Mitzvah, Peace);
- Teachable Singable and Jewish songs for Shabbat and Holidays (very singable songs on the year-round holidays suitable for children and religious school); and
- Teachable Singable and Jewish songs on prayer (singable melodies for traditional Hebrew prayers with English translations).
- Teachable Singable and Jewish: the Family Album (singable songs for the whole family to listen to together, more prayers and holiday songs, in honor of Karen's family heritage).
